winter time is best spent...

yesterday it rained all day. today it was kind of a wintery mix, i believe they call it. it comes as a sort of snow, but its very delicate and wet and melts quickly after hitting the ground. blah. we are just biding our time until tulips and flowering trees and lilacs that promise springtime and warmth. until then, we hole up inside in our free time. drinking warm drinks, covered in soft blankets while we watch movies.

speaking of movies, brandtley is enjoying 'Lilo & Stitch' in the van, keeping his Woody doll safely in his little clutches. :)

Something else we do a lot in winter? read. these were last night's books.

Buddy Boy playing with his favorite toy. It spits out balls from its trunk, he shoves them down the wrong way, but he loves it so it's all good.

Also, we journal. bella is penning out a juicy entry in her diary. no one will ever know what it says, but its adorable anyway.

And thank goodness for the iPad, which has occupied more hours than I'm comfortable admitting. Oh and footed jammies. we must have footed jammies for the cold, yucky weather.

signing off from our winter wonderland (nice way of saying its colder than heck and a sloppy mess out).

big boy! :)

Look who's 1 year old !

40 Bags 40 Days

In an attempt to de-clutter, which with 3 kids has been a process I've been attempting for a while now. Anywho, a friend posted on good ole Facebook a link to this page talking about 40 days worth of de-cluttering by bagging up a big bag 'o' whatever.
As a start, i gave a sister in law who is expecting a baby boy this May about three bags (diaper boxes, if you want to be exact) full of baby boy clothes.
(*** side note: going through his clothes made me very weepy, since he is 1 year old now and not hardly that little peanut i brought home on yesterday of last year!***)
So, I figure those three bags are a good start, and i already have another almost full garbage bag of girl clothes to give to a different sister in law for her girls. Going through clothes is tedious, but doable. However, going through the box boxes... lets just say that i may have to medicate myself to get through that task.  Its going to feel SO GOOD to lighten the load around here.
