Mary Kay and Yorkies

Okay, so moving at night when you work all day is very, very hard. My poor husband has pretty much lifted and hauled accross town 95% of our belongings now. We are just waitng on the closets to get done so we can move the clothes. Eek..

I went to a Mary Kay party last night, and bought 3 items for like $60.00. So it had better work, I promise to let you know! For as much as i paid, i intend to write a very thorough like/dislike story about the product. It was kinda cool, trying out the different products, feeling a little girly. Still, $60 is a lot to spend on the 3 face products. But for now, after one use of the cleanser/lotion/mascara, i will just say: So far, So good!

Brandon's grandparents got a Yorkie this week, and Sophia is OBSESSED with it. Gemma has drooled puddles that would drown this dog, i mean, she is little. So it looks like instead of the pony (great dane) we bought for our family, she would have preferred the teeny, tiny, trendy doggy. Go figure.

Cardinals Game and Mushrooms

As of right now, I am the closest to being caught up on the laundry as i have been in a little over a year. As you might be able to tell from that statement, my laundry pile and i dont have a very faithful relationship.

The Cardinals/Cubs game was lots of fun on Saturday, even though we ended up losing. It was still a very fun, exciting game!

Tonight we are eating the mushrooms that brandon found yesterday evening. Mmmm Mmmm should be fabulous!!  Then after that, Brandon and his sister's boyfriend will be moving our furniture to the new place. Tomorrow the closets will be finished and then the clothes can be moved. So we are still on pace to be sleeping in the new place and have most of our stuff there by this weekend. In a perfect world, by this time next week we will be completely moved and set up there, and all we would have left is a little cleaning at the old house. :-)

just a picture from when bella was 2 weeks old that i love...

okay so friday i did something i had never done before.. i got a spray tan. it was AMAZING. its horrible and sticky and smells funny, then the next morning when i washed it off in the shower, underneath that gross spray was a beautiful, dark tan. its so cool, seriously. im hooked. its the tan ive always wanted without the skin cancer causing, wrinkle-inducing side effects!

its almost 10 and everyone is in bed except me, because ive invested 3 hours of my life watching the devil wears prada, and im not going to bed until its over.
tomorrow its another full day of trying to get more stuff organized and moved. the bathroom is ready, toilet installed in the bathroom. now we just need the bed and washer/dryer put up then we can move all the little things!

Iced Lattes & New Bedrooms

well, it was another long day. brandon saw patients, moved boxes and installed new door locks all day. the computer at his office crashed and the girls REFUSED to take a nap in their new bedroom (and new beds/cute bedsheets). bella somehow ended up with a 103.4 fever today. but with a little help from Infants Tylenol and Ibuprofin she is sleeping like a baby, cool as a cucumber now. :)

tomorrow i am getting my hair done and then spending the rest of the day unpacking boxes and get the kitchen sorted out at the new digs.  Also it was day 3 of the diet. Im not gonna lie, i drank a fattening iced mocha latte (probably 1,500 calories) and 2 bites of a cheeseburger (probably 400 calories)  for lunch. But other than that, i did great!

                                                                          the great evil

we took Gemma for a walk this evening, even though we were too tired to. She liked it, so did Sophia. She jumped in a puddle (the child, not the dog). It was cute.

Now, i am going to get a chiropractic adjustment, then go to bed.
I am blessed not only that my husband is sweet and handsome and a loving father, but also a wonderfully gifted Chiropractor.  :)

Cardinals Baseball and Las Vegas

We are watching the cardinals game now. thanks for the homerun, #5. we are going to see a Cards/Cubs game this Saturday in Chi-town. i hope he hits another one then.

brandon has been moving stuff around ALL day at the office. i held bella for 2 hours today because she wouldnt let me put her down. So we are both the portrait of exhaustion tonight.  Sophia is not exhausted, however, so we are just letting her torture her baby dolls and eat Pringles until she passes out. I think I might be asleep already.

So... hopefully we will be moved in by the weekend after next. That is our goal.  I dont want to think about moving right now, though. I am way too tired to think about it tonight. One month from to day, i will be in VEGAS, BABY!!! One month from now i will be pullon on that slot handle, hearing that *ching, ching, ching*!! Im not usually much of a gambler, but put me in front of those slot machines and the compulsive gambler that dwells deep down within me is released. So we cant stay long, so i dont lose too much.

Easter Sunday and The Dog Whisperer

Easter was fun, Sophia and Bella had SUCH a great weekend. We all did!
On Saturday night Sophie was too excited to sleep, she wanted to see a picture of the Easter Bunny "online," so daddy showed her one. She talked to the picture like he was standing right in front of her, it was adorable! She asked if she could please have some candy, told him that she loved him and Jesus, told him thank you and to tell Jesus thank you too. Im telling you, it was too cute!
The girls got way too much stuff over the weekend between us and all of our parents and families, and i have the mess in my living room to prove it! They had so much fun and were so delighted, it was just so cool to see them enjoy it. Sophia especially, since she is old enough to know whats going on. Church was great, the Easter dresses looked so stinking cute. There wasnt too many loud outbursts during the sermon. It was awesome!

I went all Dog Whisperer on Gemma today. I think she respects me now. ;P Just like Cesar I embodied 'calm assertive.' I seriously think it worked!
I am joking around here a little, of course. But there is some seriousness here, also. I LOVE that show, its both entertaining and helpful! I am currently reading more into puppy training around children, and his website has some good tips.
*more pictures of Gemma coming soon, we are still working on her 'posing' skills.

AI and why im a stay-at-home-mommy

Okay, so here are my top two picks.  Now, this isnt to say they are the two personalities i like the best. Not even the top two albums i would buy. My two favorites would probably be Matt Giraud and Kris Allen. But Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta are the two that I assume will make it to the finals based on how well they are doing and what I think the popular vote will be.  If they dont, no love loss here. :) Lambo is pretty good, tho.

Just getting the girls ready to go to work today!
Its an interesting task to start working for my husband in his office, and taking the girls with. They play on their own some, but they are children so at times they demand more attention than i can give when i am on the phone with clients or greeting patients. But someone asked me a few months ago if i ever felt like i wanted to go back to the workplace and take the kids to daycare just to get some "me time" or time away from them (for sanity purposes.)
There are certainly plenty of times i feel like i could use a few hours of quiet. Maybe sometimes when i wish i could just get a little work done without someone crying or needing a drink or cleaning up a spill.  Sometimes when i see an entire bag of chips ground into the carpet or fresh marker on my white walls, yes an image of a calm, quiet day does sound appealing. But then i think about what i would be missing.  When they cry, they cry to someone else. When Sophia makes up a funny dance or says something hilarious, i wouldnt get to be the first witness. When Bella takes her first step, i might not be there.  The pictures they draw, the songs they sing.. it wont be me by their side when they do it. In 4 years my kids will be in school, and for 8 hours a day they will be gone and i cant do anything about that. But for right now, I am happy to be the primary caregiver of my own children. Money is the major bonus of working. If we are destitute tomorrow, i may not have any choice but to go back to work. But as long as we can pay our bills, i will stay at home with my children. I have my whole life to work, and only a few short (but meaningful) years left until my girls go to school... then college... then their own careers and marriages, etc.  So while my husband and i are blessed enough that i can stay home, i will.  Pictured below, the two lights of my life.

 the end :)

Their Favorite Things

im still sick...
we took the dog to the vet, she is growing at an unbelievable pace. She is 11 weeks old now, weighing in at 30 lbs. already.
Bella is over a year old now, and still refuses to walk. I keep trying to make her practice, but im starting to think she might be the only kid in town crawling around her kindergarten class. She is quite the babbler, though.

For those of you who would like a little update on what the girls are into right now, i made a short list of some their favorites (this week.)

Sophia's Current favorites:
shows: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Imagination Movers
Movie:  Twilight (even though i dont think she knows whats going on)
food: chicken, pasta, and gum
saying:  "you're a Maniac!"
time of day: early morning and late afternoon
hobby: coloring (mostly on the walls and furniture), and "shootin coyote's" (see pic below)
toys: hannah montana doll, any baby dolls (all named Lola)
animal: horsies
and she is most currently the most excited about:  wearing her new dress on Easter, which comes with the matching dress for her baby doll.

Bella's current favorites:
shows: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, actually anything on Disney (see pic below)
Movie: she hasnt decided
food: french fries and milk
word: "nonononono!"
time of day: morning
hobby: eating ladybugs
toys: anything that fits in her mouth
animal: our dog Gemma
and she is currently most excited about: her next meal
My girls are so sweet and funny! They are ornery as can be, but in the sweetest way.  And they LOVE each other, Sophie is such a good big sister. Even when Bella is pulling Sophia's hair and Sophia squeezes Bella's arm until she cries, i can still see the love. You couldn't find a more proud (or tired) mommy in the world. :)

To Brandon, Happy Birthday toooo youuuu!

snow in april and Brandon's B-day

i suppose it was inevitable, but im sick now.
its cold and snowing.. in APRIL!! this is ridiculous
brandon and i asked sophia last night what she wanted to watch.. anything she wanted, it didnt matter what. Imagine my surprise (and JOY) when she said twilight. we tried to talk her out of it and suggest different movies, but she started crying hysterically "nooooo!! twilight!!"
so, it was (another) Twilight night.  Worse things have happened. :)

Twilight-Icons
So...
Its Brandon's 28th Birthday today!!  He is insanely hard to shop for but me and the girls got him a couple small things. We are going to Las Vegas in May, so that is a combined birthday present for both of us.

So, honey if you are reading this... and at this point you are probably the only one who will. .

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HANDSOME!! I LOVE YOU!!
You can listen to Brandon today on Issues and Attitudes on WEIU!!

random movie quote of the day
From Knocked Up, when the little girl is explaining where she thinks babies come from:
"Well. I think a stork, he umm, he drops it down and then, and then, a hole goes in your body and there's blood everywhere, coming out of your head and then you push your belly button and then your butt falls off and then you hold your butt and you have to dig and you find the little baby."
"Thats exactly right."

I told my daughter they come out of your belly button and i dont know how they get in there... and that works for now.

New Moon Movie and Twilight News

Just thought i should have this on here... ;)

Birthday Parties and Ear Infections

Bella's 1st Birthday party was yesterday. Now she has had 2 out of the 3 parties, just one left with my family next weekend. It was a great day, she got lots of cute stuff and had fun with everyone. Then after they all left she took a nap and when she woke, she had a 101.3 fever. So now I have two sick children. Looks like tomorrow we will be headed back to the doctor for round two.

Last night my husband and i watched the Animal Planet dog show and Antique Road Show, right about the same time we realized we were like an 80 year old couple instead of a couple in their 20's. Of course some dog i thought was ugly won and they passed over all my picks, no surprise there. If i pick a dog to win, its the kiss of death for them.
This is my pick for best in show: Gemma the Great Dane puppy

Its a rainy Sunday, and since there is no church for us today because of my little sickies, today will be spent napping and watching all the things i Tivo'd but didnt get to watch last week.
But first, i need to go Lysol my house. All the sick germs make me nervous.

p.s. i took the 'which twilight character are you?' quiz on facebook,
and the result was:

Esme

Of course i thought i would be Bella, but ive decided, i probably am more of an Esme-type.

Emergency Rooms and Twilight chatter

So my husband and I spent last night in the ER with our oldest daughter, 2 1/2 year old Sophia. She had a fever of 104.7 and was throwing up, it was sad and miserable, but in the end it was just an ear infection. Our prayers were answered as soon as we heard that it wasnt serious. This is the first time we had ever had to take her to the ER, i think only the second time she ever went to the doctor, so mommy and daddy were VERY worried. She is watching movies in daddy's office this morning while I man the front desk here at my husband's chiropractic office/spa/wellness center. Our youngest daughter Bella stayed with my hubby's mom.

Speaking of
Bella......

After jumping on the Twilight bandwagon last week, and reading all 4 books in five days. I cant get enough, i was left wanting so much more. So, of course, i read the unfinished Midnight Sun online, and was left yearning for more. I want to read every book in the series knowing what Edward was thinking, it is such a completing twist to read "Twilight" as he tells the story. It gives it a whole new meaning to every word that he spoke, because it tells the feelings behind them. Every action i hadn't fully understood, or an all-too-long disappearance, is explained. Im gonna write her a letter AND an email. I dont want to be punished for her leaky publishing company! I just want to be continuously involved in the most romantic story ive ever read. Like i said, i'm writing a LETTER.
