Taking a big, far away vacation really wasn't an option this year because of the baby, yet we really wanted to get away from home and feel like we were on vacation. So we went to visit my sister in law, Maddi, and her husband, Jeff in Green Bay Wisconsin. This was about a 6.5 hour drive, which is still doable with the 3 little ones. We had a fabulous time there, though there were some rough moments with Bella because of her recent tonsillectomy. I have lots of pics of the trip, however, these are all of our trip to the zoo.
It was a pretty warm day, but unlike the zoo we usually go to (the St Louis Zoo) it wasn't overcrowded, which made it really nice. The only thing worse than being a hot sweaty mess at the zoo, is being a hot sweaty mess at the zoo when its so crowded you are rubbing elbows with everyone. So, this was quite pleasant. :) We all had a great time... especially at the end... keep reading!
There was a tense moment when Bella was attacked by this bear, but it looks like she won him over with a smile.
Yes, they love each other.
Check out the turkey fully fanned out in the background!
Pepsi, please pay me for this shot.
Look at the face on this little guy, we all wanted to keep him.
Trying to take a close look at a moose!
Hello, baby blue eyes.
This sweet boy was so good, not only at the zoo, but also the whole trip. I was worried, and really we didn't even want to take him because we thought he would fuss the whole time. But he was on his best behavior and we were very glad he got to accompany us on the trip. :) And looky, he can grab his feet. .. yeah its adorable.
Posing with her blue mouth, bella refused to be in the shot.
And now, for the highlight of the zoo experience... feeding the Giraffes. This was BEYOND cool, and these little girlfriends were trying to fill these giraffe bellies up! Who wouldn't love this face!?!?
I so wish he would have reached down and licked her head here.... she would have passed out with delight! I kind of adore the goofy look he is giving here!
Bella being adventurous and going in for a face pet (or and eye poke.... its hard to tell.)
The zoo day = success.
